NEW YORK, March 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — LearningExpress, LLC is hosting and sponsoring “One Simple Goal: Help People Get Jobs!” at the Public Library Association conference in Philadelphia from March 13-17. More and more job seekers are flocking to libraries for help in their hunt for employment. This presentation will show librarians how to work with their library patrons to help them get hired and reach their career goals.
The presentation takes place on Friday, March 16th from 4:15-5:15 in room 120 A-B-C in the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Steve Hipes, Columbus Metropolitan Library Team Leader, will present easy to implement strategies that libraries and librarians can use to help members of their community get back to work. He’ll review strategies the Columbus Metropolitan Library has put in place to help regional job seekers including 21 centers offering job search help to job seekers.
“Our job help centers are an important part of the day-to-day help we provide our customers,” said Hipes. “We provide access to resources and can provide assistance that can help people find a job and change their lives. Last year alone we helped more than 40,000 in our community search for jobs.”
