New Therapy Device Decreases Costs for Shoulder Injuries

March 14, 2012

BONNEY LAKE, Wash., March 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — People with shoulder injuries will now have an inexpensive and safe way to perform Passive Range of Motion (PROM) shoulder exercises in their own home for about the cost of one co-payment.

Previously, in order to receive PROM at home, one would have to rent a machine for hundreds of dollars per week or have a physical therapist come to the home.

The SLINGPROM(TM) is a patented shoulder pulley system that enables these exercises to be performed at home. This can not be done with a traditional shoulder pulley.

According to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, shoulder problems accounted for 7.5 million doctor visits in 2006, with approximately half of these injuries to the rotator cuff. In addition, adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder) is estimated to be experienced by 3 to 5 percent of the US population annually.

Davidson Therapy Products, LLC has developed and patented The SLINGPROM(TM) to provide pain-free Passive Range of Motion (PROM) exercises for the shoulder to help improve the recovery from rotator cuff injuries/surgeries, frozen shoulders and shoulder replacement surgeries.
