Armageddon Bio-Warfare Thriller Set for July 2012 Release
Paul McKellips’ second novel, Jericho 3, is an Armageddon bio-warfare political thriller taking readers deep into the trenches of today’s Middle East conflict
WASHINGTON, May 8, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — FBR Press announced today author and award-winning filmmaker Paul McKellips will release his second novel, Jericho 3, on July 9, 2012. The heroes of McKellips’ acclaimed debut, UNCAGED, return determined to successfully complete a mission that leaves millions of lives hanging in the balance. At the heart of the operation is the dire need to prevent a first-strike with a weapon known in intelligence circles as … Jericho 3.
“The fictional story evolved after serving a year in Iraq during the surge and six months on the front lines of Afghanistan last year,” says McKellips. “Jericho 3 is plucked from real events and larger-than-life heroic stories of biomedical researchers, scientists, diplomats and special operations soldiers who work behind-the-scenes to prevent life from imitating this art.”
Jericho 3 transports readers to a remote corner of Afghanistan, where three Taliban patients are diagnosed with a rare, incredibly infectious disease. The Iranian regime hatches a lethal bio-warfare and nuclear Armageddon plan. As the clock ticks down, U.S. Navy Captain “Camp” Campbell and Army Lieutenant Colonel Leslie Raines must do everything it takes to prevent the total annihilation of two countries. With his trademark grit and a globe-racing plot, McKellips takes readers from Afghanistan to Iran to Israel in this one-of-a-kind thriller that will open eyes long after the final page has been turned.
McKellips joined the Foundation for Biomedical Research as executive vice president in 2007. He has written, directed and produced three motion pictures and numerous television shows as well as family programming with NFL Hall of Famer and former Green Bay Packers legend, the late Reggie White. McKellips directed and produced the Jonathan Winters Entertainment Show and the Pat Morita Show for SpectraVision. He has earned 20 Telly Awards and two Emmy® nominations for his Bench2Bedside biomedical television series. A native of Neenah, Wisconsin, McKellips served in Iraq as a public affairs broadcaster and was embedded with four Iraqi journalists at a remote combat outpost in the volatile Diyala Province during the height of “the surge.” At the invitation of General David H. Petraeus, McKellips served as a media trainer to the Afghan National Army and produced a documentary film in Pashtu on Afghan culture that was broadcast nationally in Afghanistan in 2011. He is also the co-founder of No Greater Sacrifice, a charity that provides college scholarship money to the children of fallen and wounded U.S. soldiers.
McKellips’ first novel, UNCAGED, A Thriller (Vantage Point, New York, 2011) received widespread critical acclaim and is available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other fine retailers.
