SnagFilms Signs Multi-Platform TV Contract With Rentrak

PORTLAND, Ore., May 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Rentrak Corporation (NASDAQ: RENT), the leader in multi-screen media measurement serving the advertising, television and entertainment industries, today announced both an OnDemand Essentials and Digital Download Essentials contract with SnagFilms, one of the world’s leading distributors of independent films for digital platforms. The deal marks yet another contract with an independent movie distributor for access to the on-demand industry’s measurement currency as well as the leading performance reporting for the distribution company’s Internet Video-on-Demand (iVOD) and Electronic Sell-Through (EST) content.

SnagFilms offers select independent titles via transactional video-on-demand (TOD) with partners reaching nearly 90% of U.S. video-on-demand households, including Comcast, iN Demand, Verizon’s FiOS, DIRECTV and launching soon on DISH Network. Digital platform partners include iTunes, Hulu Plus, Amazon, VUDU, Xbox Live, YouTube Movies, and launching soon on Samsung Media Hub.
