Silicon Valley’s RElevant Enterprises Launches REgel To Help Athletes

June 20, 2012

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — San Jose & Silicon Valley is world renowned for its entrepreneurship that has led to hi-tech giants such as Cisco, Ebay, and Adobe, but in the 1960s, San Jose was known to the world as Speed City. The height of Speed City was back in 1968 after sprint greats Tommie Smith, John Carlos, and Lee Evans won medals at the Olympic Games in Mexico. Coincidently, in this Olympic year of 2012, the heritage of the Speed City era and the entrepreneurship spirit of Silicon Valley have come together.

Coached in the 1990s by members of the original Speed City, entrepreneur Thachvu Ho, has created REgel which is a new topical gel that helps relieve pain, repair injuries, and recover from workouts faster. Always injured in college, Thachvu was frustrated with all the muscle rubs with camphor/menthol that just masked the pain. “I wanted to create a product that used natural ingredients to help relieve muscle soreness & injuries but did not contain P.E.D. (Performance Enhancement Drugs).”

During the summer of 2011, an early version of REgel was put to the test at the World Masters Track & Field Championships held at Sacramento State. Masters Athletics is gaining popularity as it brings together athletes (ages 35 and up) from around the world to compete in Olympic events such as Swimming, Cycling, and Track & Field. Participants range from average Joes to former Olympians. Many are dedicated athletes who can perform at world class levels. With a week-long competition, Thachvu used REgel to help keep his body fresh and shared it with his teammates. Along the way they set a new world record representing Team USA in the 4 x 100 meter relay (Men’s 35-39 age group) of a time of 41.89.

Since then REgel has been refined to make it even more effective and tested with hundreds of athletes in different sports including MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), Triathlon, and Crossfit. REgel allows athletes to perform at higher levels longer, and is now available.

RElevant Enterprises, Inc. is the distributor for REgel. Their mission is to provide new, all-natural, relevant products to improve athletic performance and prolong an athlete’s career.
