Celebrity Designer, Artist, National Columnist and Independent Film Producer, David-Michael Madigan Backing Two New Independent Film Projects
LOS ANGELES, July 2, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Celebrity Designer, Artist, National Columnist and Independent Film Producer, David-Michael Madigan Backing Two New Independent Film Projects.
Celebrity designer, artist, national columnist and independent film producer, David-Michael Madigan is backing two new film projects as an Associate Producer, both are currently in production. “These films have emotionally charged subject matters that focus on issues that affect the daily lives of every human being. They both hit the very core of humanity”, states David-Michael.
The first film, which is entitled “Second Class Citizens”, is slated to hit the big screen in February of 2013. A documentary about the gay rights movement, writer / director Ryan James Yezak, describes his film as, “A documentary about discrimination against citizens of a lesser class”. In The Huffington Post, Ryan goes on to say, “I want to make a documentary that encompasses all areas in which we are discriminated against.” Yezak notes, “There is far too much hate directed towards our community and I want to capture that hate on camera. In addition, I want to explore where this hate comes from, why it continues to exist, and what we must do to get rid of it.” David-Michael believes that there is no doubt that this film will become a major success.
The second film being backed by David-Michael Madigan, “The Call”, is being produced as a one hour TV pilot by writer / director Rafael Killyan Rios; a release date is to be announced. Billed as, “An ensemble one-hour drama for premium cable, it is centered around Lorraine Parker, a workaholic Executive Director at Phoenix Crisis Call who finds the real crisis is under her own roof”. Rafael Killyan Rios states, “Every 40 seconds, someone in the world dies by suicide. Every 41 seconds, someone is left to make sense of it. On November 19th, 2008 I was left to make sense of it when my cousin, J.R., fell victim to that very same statistic. The result of this birthed a television pilot- The Call.” What could The Call ever hope to achieve on network cable? Prevent suicide and save lives, increase national awareness about depression and suicide, advocate for mental health issues, and assist survivors of suicide loss, the film’s website states. “The need for such a TV pilot could not come at a more appropriate time in our lives”, states David-Michael Madigan. “With raging suicide rates making daily world-wide headlines, it is time for us all to take heed of this epidemic. I have all the faith that the brilliance of writer / director Rafael Killyan Rios talents will give this film epic proportion”, David-Michael concludes.
