September kicks off the “Leaf Peeping” Season which attracts leaf watchers from all over the country to the beautiful foliage along the Southeast mountains and rivers. The fall season is a great time to explore Nantahala Outdoor Center; visitors can raft down the seven rivers while enjoying the amazing beauty. The Nantahala River campus’ stunning fall color will make for a beautiful, unique atmosphere while rafting or even soaring above the trees at the Zip Line Adventure Park.

NOC Gatlinburg is another great campus due to the close proximity of the peak red, orange and yellow leaves along the Smoky Mountains. The Gatlinburg campus offers access to a wide range of elevations that result in a better chance of seeing the arrangement of autumn colors. Experience breath-taking views while floating down the river or from mountainside fire towers. Leaf watchers can also take full advantage of the exciting activities on campus such as whitewater rafting, hiking along the Appalachian Trail and rides along the Smoky Mountain railroad.

“Situated in the Smokey Mountains, NOC offers stunning views of the surrounding nature during the autumn months,” said Sutton Bacon, President and CEO of Nantahala Outdoor Center. “We urge families, outdoor enthusiasts, and “Leaf Peepers” this fall to experience the rainbow of colors while enjoying the many thrilling outdoor activities we offer. I feel confident that Nantahala Outdoor Center will become a must-see fall tradition for anyone who experiences it this year.”
