Quaker® Oats Teams Up With NFL PLAY 60 and Andrew Luck To Find Kids With A Winning Combination of Healthy Habits
CHICAGO, Sept. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — The Quaker Oats Company, a division of PepsiCo, along with NFL PLAY 60 and NFL rookie quarterback Andrew Luck are teaming up to find inspiring kids who make eating right and physical fitness a priority and can motivate their peers to do the same. Starting today, parents can encourage their kids, ages six to thirteen, to enter The NFL PLAY 60 Super Bowl Contest presented by Quaker by sharing how they help power their play with nourishing foods and exercise. The search aims to highlight the importance of healthy habits for kids and families, while also providing some once-in-a-lifetime rewards, including tickets to NFL games and one “lucky” grand prize trip to Super Bowl XLVII to run the game ball onto the field.
“Quaker and NFL PLAY 60 believe kids and families can inspire each other to make important lifestyle changes now that will benefit them throughout their lives,” said Justin Lambeth, Chief Marketing Officer for Quaker Oats. “For the past 135 years, Quaker has nourished families to help power their play. By working with dynamic role models like Andrew Luck and supporting activities that foster change, such as The NFL PLAY 60 Super Bowl Contest presented by Quaker, we remain committed to supporting healthy families for years to come.”
Andrew Luck, a supporter of NFL PLAY 60, is building his relationship with Quaker based on their shared mission of motivating families to be active and choose wholesome foods. “Growing up, my family and teammates inspired me to eat right and make physical fitness a way of life. So I know that role models, especially the peer-to-peer kind, make all the difference,” said Luck. “I believe that good nutrition and regular physical activity can help improve kids’ lives, and I’m happy to join Quaker and NFL PLAY 60 to recognize kids who inspire others to make healthy choices.”
To enter, participants ages six to thirteen can visit QuakerOats.com/NFLPLAY60 with parent or guardian permission, answer three quick questions and pledge to spend at least 60 minutes each day getting active. The site also features a photo gallery with behind-the-scenes pictures from the NFL PLAY 60 Youth Football Festival during the NFL Draft and a video shoot with Luck, while a video gallery offers access to videos from Luck with tips for bringing out your A-game through nourishing foods and regular exercise.
As the official Hot Cereal Sponsor of the NFL, Quaker aims to complement the goals of NFL PLAY 60 by continuing to make nourishing, whole grain products that help give kids the fuel they need to partake in active play. With the 2012-2013 NFL regular season beginning September 5, The NFL PLAY 60 Super Bowl Contest presented by Quaker is a way for kids and families who love football to step up their game and inspire other fans to live healthier lifestyles.
