Larry and Nick Rice Go for the Silver
MEMPHIS, Tenn., Sept. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Larry Rice literally wrote the book on divorce. The Complete Guide To Divorce Practice has received high praise from his peers, being called “…a virtual gold mine…” and “invaluable….” This year commemorates the 25(th) anniversary of its printing. The book delivers as titled, the complete guide to divorce practice, includes forms, procedures and recommendations that are used across the nation. A certified Family Law Specialist, Super Lawyer, Larry is considered one of the foremost authorities on divorce and often called upon to lecture in every corner of the country.
Writing the book started with trial and error – as he tried things that worked, he wrote them down and kept them in notebooks. As the information grew and took shape, so did the book. “Once the information got to the point where I thought it would be useful to others, I decided to go with it. Now here we are today, 25 years later.”
Larry says he keeps writing the book because there is no area of the law that has grown in complexity and sophistication like family/divorce law. “The book started out at about 100 pages and is now over 900 pages. That is an indicator of how much our practice area has mushroomed. We update our system as we go along to keep it current.”
Nick Rice, Larry’s son and co-author of the book, is a third generation lawyer, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. Like Larry, he grew up in the practice, clerking during junior high school. He joined the practice in 2000 as a law clerk then as a lawyer in 2003 after graduating from law school at the University of Memphis. “My dad created a wonderful blueprint for me. I am proud to be the torchbearer for the firm. Over the years, I have grown from his pupil to his partner. It feels great to celebrate this milestone with my dad.”
The Complete Guide To Divorce Practice is available through the American Bar Association.
