Feminine Power is the Missing Link to Living a Fulfilling Life
NEW YORK, Oct. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — In her new book, Resurrecting Venus: A Woman’s Guide to Love, Work, Motherhood, & Soothing the Sacred Ache (Agape Media/Hay House October 2012), author Cynthia Occelli tells how she overcame enormous obstacles to the life that she dared to envision. She provides practical insight on how women can tap into their feminine essence to create the life they want – living authentic, fulfilled and joyful lives.
Her story is as remarkable as it is inspirational. The odds were simply not in Occelli’s favor. Born biracial to a 16 year-old girl and an absent father, she dropped out of school in the ninth grade. At nineteen she was a single mother living on welfare in a garage when she decided to break the cycle and reach for her dreams. Occelli went on to law school without a high school diploma – a feat most people thought impossible – and graduated in the top 3% of her class. In her own words, “The beautiful thing about starting from less than zero is that you have nothing to lose.”
After climbing out of poverty, Occelli fell in love with a wonderful man. They married, welcomed a child and built their dream home in Southern California. Then, in an instant, everything collapsed; her husband suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm that washed away his memory, personality and their marriage. Faced with sustaining two children, a mortgage, two businesses, and a shattered heart, Occelli found her own inner strength. She learned how to use masculine energy as a tool and relied on the healing joy and strengths of femininity to create a new fulfilling life.
Occelli’s journey to discover her own femininity was as messy as it was unlikely. Early on she was imprinted with the belief that femininity was a synonym for weakness. As a teen she brandished a tough-girl facade and became involved with several weak and abusive men, one of whom got her pregnant. She courageously reveals her own mistakes and personal tragedies as a means for giving hope to all ‘sisters’ while helping them make better choices.
The author includes real life examples as well as personal stories that serve to demonstrate the successful and unsuccessful ways of applying feminine power. She acknowledges that expressing your femininity can be a challenge in a world often dominated by masculine energy, but shows that by honoring your deepest yearnings it becomes effortless. In “Resurrecting Venus,” Occelli reunites women with their feminine essence and explains how to have success, love, and their deepest desires fulfilled.
Recognizing that women often think they have to be like men to succeed, Occelli shows how to reunite with the feminine essence in their everyday lives. Writing in a soothing yet direct style, she dispels the myths surrounding feminine energy and explains how all women – from homemakers to high-level executives – can resurrect and use their feminine power to create fulfilling lives proving that being a powerful woman does not mean behaving like a man.
Occelli shows women how to have it all: calm confidence, fulfilling work, true beauty, empowered children, passionate romance, joyful living and a cure for the pervasive ache for something more. Leading by example, she encourages women to take risks, not to be afraid to make mistakes, reach for dreams, and fall for love.
