CAHG Captures Gold At MM&M Awards

CHICAGO, Oct. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — CAHG, a leading professional healthcare communications agency, captured the top award in one of the most important categories of the prestigious MM&M Awards. CAHG’s campaign for Merck’s RotaTeq vaccine took home Gold for “Best Multichannel Campaign for a Large Client.”

CAHG was also a finalist in the “Best Corporate Marketing Campaign” category for a video created for Merck Infectious Diseases. The MM&M Awards, organized by Medical Marketing & Media, a leading healthcare marketing industry trade magazine, recognize exceptional creativity and marketing effectiveness in healthcare. Winners were announced at a ceremony at Cipriani 42nd St. in New York City on Oct. 9.

The “Best Multichannel Award” recognizes the best use of different media for a single campaign for maximum measurable effect for client companies with $12 billion or more in 2011 worldwide revenue.

Judges thought the campaign for RotaTeq, which helps protect infants and children against common types of rotavirus, was beautifully executed and engaging, according to MM&M. The campaign creates a rich narrative about RotaTeq, demonstrating that RotaTeq helps to protect baby against rotavirus gastroenteritis (RGE), supported by clinical efficacy data and a demonstrated safety profile. A nesting doll family brings to life the brand’s unique design–multiple serotypes in one vaccine–and embodies a warm and nurturing brand personality.

“We approached this project like it was the next Pixar film,” said Robin Shapiro, CAHG EVP and Chief Creative Officer. “It began with a simple sketch. Then we developed the characters and perfected each doll family member prior to scoring music, designing sound and fine-tuning the animation.”

Comments from judges included “perfectly executed,” “well thought out,” and the campaign “effectively pulled the message across multiple channels,” MM&M reported. Campaign elements included a journal ad, sales aid, video and digital.

It’s harder than we think, and our industry spends too much time taking a simple idea and making it more complicated. We believe the idea loses its ability to perform once that happens. Our RotaTeq clients really understood and embraced the ‘simple’ principle. We are absolutely thrilled that the MM&M judges agree.”

This is the second major award captured by the RotaTeq campaign, which won a Global Award last December in the “Communication to the Healthcare Professional” category.

The MM&M Awards champion both creativity and effectiveness in healthcare marketing and communications across 24 categories. Winners are determined by a panel of independent judges representing all sectors of the industry.
