NFL Legends Team Up to Kick Off 8th Annual Super Bowl Celebrity Bowling Classic
NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — As Super Bowl XLVII heads to New Orleans, the NFL Foundation will host its eighth annual Super Bowl Celebrity Bowling Classic. The event will be emceed by former Super Bowl champion and football legend Ed “Too Tall” Jones, with all proceeds benefiting the NFL Foundation.
“The NFL Foundation Super Bowl Celebrity Bowling Classic has become an annual event that fans look forward to, a unique opportunity to bowl side-by-side with the stars,” said Jones. “I’m tremendously honored to now host this event for the third time. Bowling is one of our nation’s great pastimes, much like another sport I love – football.”
At the Celebrity Bowling Classic, fans will have the unique opportunity to bowl with current and former NFL stars and Hall of Fame members who will serve as rotating celebrity captains. Legendary NFL stars and Pro Football Hall of Fame members confirmed to participate in the Classic include (subject to change): Hank Bauer, Elvin Bethea, Jerome Bettis, Marlin Briscoe, Willie Buchanon, Chris Calloway, Will Claye, Nesby Glasgow, Rodney Hampton, Paul Hornung, LaMonte Hunley, Ricky Hunley, Brian Kelly, Leroy Kelly, Jerry Kramer, Paul Krause, Kent Kramer, Mike Lucci, Tom Mack, Randall McDaniel, Curtis McGriff, Bart Oates, Jonathan Ogden, Brig Owens, Terrell Owens, Pete Shaw, Mike Sherrard, Lance Smith, Jimmy Taylor, Icky Woods and Stu Voigt.
The event will take place at AMF All Star Lanes in Kenner, Louisiana at 7pm local time on Thursday, January 31, 2013.

The NFL Foundation Super Bowl Celebrity Bowling Classic is open to bowlers and their guests. Entry fees are a donation to the NFL Foundation of $300 per individual and $1,000 per bowling foursome. All proceeds will benefit the NFL Foundation, a 501(c) (3) non-profit foundation. Each bowler will receive a commemorative Super Bowl XLVII bowling ball and pin, along with a gift bag of official Super Bowl merchandise from event sponsors. A silent auction hosted by NFL Auction will offer NFL memorabilia and autographed keepsakes. Guests of bowlers may attend the event at a fee of $50 per person.
