New Clear Channel Outdoor Social Campaign Offers SXSW Enthusiasts a Chance to Win iHeartRadio Music Festival Tickets
Digital Ads at Austin Bergstrom International Airport Demonstrate Capabilities to Engage Consumers with Brands in Social Media
AUSTIN, Texas, March 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Using its dynamic digital displays throughout the Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), Clear Channel Outdoor, one of the world’s largest outdoor advertising companies, is inviting the more than 25,000 technologists, media professionals and social influencers heading to 2013 SXSW Festival to share their unique festival experiences as part of its latest social media contest. From March 8-17, all SXSW attendees that mention Clear Channel Outdoor’s Twitter handle (@CCOutdoor) in a tweet using the hashtag #SXSW will be automatically entered in a drawing to win two free tickets to the 2013 iHeartRadio Music Festival.

Offering prime eye-level placement throughout the main concourse directly across from the gates, creative messages will appear on XX digital displays throughout the airport. Tweet entries can include photos, favorite events from the festival and reasons for attending. The contest will run through 12:01 AM (EST), Monday, March 18(th) and Clear Channel Outdoor will randomly select a lucky participant to receive two free tickets to the iHeartRadio Festival.
iHeartRadio is a music festival held during September in Las Vegas, Nevada and is hosted by the digital radio service that lets fans find over 1,500 Live Stations or Custom Stations of favorite music from a catalog of millions of songs and over 400,000 artists. The 2013 iHeartRadio Festival will take place September 20-22, 2013. The previous year’s festival featured performances by Bon Jovi, Green Day, Rihanna, Aerosmith and Taylor Swift, among others.
This is the second Twitter sweepstakes that Clear Channel Outdoor has promoted using its digital properties. Last month, Clear Channel Outdoor ran the “Happy NYC” sweepstakes with the Jamaican Tourist Board to promote Celebrating Times Square’s ranking as the “Happiest Place in New York City.” Two lucky winners received a 4-day/3-night prize trip to Jamaica.
