JoynMe Builds “Action Network” to Help People Stay Active
MENLO PARK, Calif., March 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — JoynMe Inc., creator of the world’s first “action network”, today announced the launch of the new JoynMe application, a no-cost app designed to help people and organizations with spontaneously finding, planning, and organizing activities in their area. The app is available for download from both the App Store and Google Play, is supported by multiple platforms, and has recently been updated to include several new features:
- Full app functionality via the JoynMe website (http://www.joynme.com)
- A community widget with full functionality that can be installed on any club or organization’s website
- A Facebook tab application that can be added to any Facebook group page
- Full Twitter and Facebook integration
- Built-in weather widget and GPS-based directions to activities
- User-customizable groups make it easier to invite clubs and teams
“We are constantly surrounded by opportunities to participate and engage in activities, but too often, we miss these opportunities because we didn’t know they were going on nearby,” said JoynMe CEO Maoz Friedman. “JoynMe solves that problem by helping people discover the wealth of things to do around them and giving them the tools to invite friends and new people to participate.”
JoynMe has already attracted attention from dozens of sports organizations around the world, including forty cycling clubs in the United States. Mark Friis, executive director of the Southern California-based Inland Empire Biking Alliance, expressed his belief that the JoynMe platform would be beneficial to sporting clubs of all kinds.
“As an organizer of bike rides for eight years, it’s been difficult to keep everyone up to date with rides; too much time is spent using too many forms of communication. With JoynMe, I see unlimited potential for always keeping people posted on happenings. Clubs will benefit beyond belief.”
JoynMe’s goal is to help individuals, groups of friends, and communities become more active by helping them build “action networks” where they can spontaneously find and organize activities in their area. Bootstrapped since 2011, JoynMe took second place at the 2012 Life 3.0 Startup Demo in San Francisco, CA.
