Fitango Encourages New Runners Across the Nation to Participate in “Marathon Month”
eHealth platform provides comprehensive marathon training Actionplans for four great U.S. races
NEW YORK, April 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Spring is in the air and anything feels possible – even running a marathon. The collaborative e-Health platform Fitango is encouraging new athletes to get up and running. Fitango will be providing comprehensive marathon training Actionplans for four great races: the Portland Marathon, the Twin Cities Marathon, the Chicago Marathon, and the New York City Marathon. This “Marathon Month” initiative combines Fitango’s well-established fitness expertise with detailed city guides, giving an inside look at each race.
Fitango launched its first two Marathon Month initiatives, “Preparing for the 2013 Portland Marathon” and “Preparing for the 2013 Twin Cities Marathon,” on March 29. It will follow these up with “Preparing for the 2013 Chicago Marathon” on April 9, and will conclude with “Preparing for the 2013 New York City Marathon” on May 1. Each launch, presented in Fitango’s unique Actionplan format, has been carefully planned to give new runners a full six months of training.
All Marathon Month Actionplans include detailed and extensive training for new runners, which will help them cultivate the speed and endurance they will need to finish the race. They also include lessons on the basics of marathon training, such as when to buy new running shoes to ensure they’ll be broken in before the race. However, the real bonus of these Actionplans is their in-depth, comprehensive coverage of the cities, including everything from tips on the marathon’s course, recommended hotels for out-of-towners, and details on how to register for the race.
Fitango founder and CEO Dr. Dov Biran, who has run the New York City Marathon, describes these plans as a part of Fitango’s ongoing effort to make health and fitness accessible to the public.
