Poland Spring Serves as Running Partner for Participants in the 117th Running of the Renowned Boston Road Race

Boston Marathon and is proud to be back hydrating race participants at the country’s most historic road race. This year, more than 26,000 runners will look to Poland Spring for hydration as they race through the streets of Boston and push themselves to cross the finish line in pursuit of their personal goals.
Elite marathon runner and Poland Spring spokesperson Josh Cox will be joining Poland Spring as the ultimate hydration partner, inspiring runners to perform at their best. Since Cox has been in Boston for this prestigious event every year since 2001, he’s familiar with the course and the necessity of consistent hydration through each mile marker. “The best advice I can give to the runners in Boston is to stay properly hydrated and run smart through the miles leading up to Heartbreak Hill – it’s going to be tough,” Cox explains. “Hydration is a critical part of any athlete’s success, especially for those striving to perform at their best and Poland Spring is an important part of my workout routine when I’m running in Boston. Poland Spring will have a booth at the 2013 John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo from April 12-14 at the John B. Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Mass. where consumers and race participants will have the opportunity to share their stories of personal betterment on running bibs and explain why they run, serving as inspiration for Monday’s race. Following the race, participants will be encouraged to celebrate their personal accomplishments and share what inspired them to finish strong.
Poland Spring Brand 100% Natural Spring Water, sourced from carefully selected natural springs, has supported various running events for more than 12 years and is excited to once again serve as the official bottled water sponsor of the upcoming B.A.A.’s Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15, where the brand will supply water at both the start and finish lines. Poland Spring Natural Spring Water will also be available along the course at official hydration stations, including the Poland Spring Hydration Zone at Mile 19, where more than 150 Poland Spring volunteers will hand out cups of water and a live DJ will provide entertainment to help encourage the runners and cheer them on as they pass by.
