IB is committed to its media clients who embrace a content-driven strategy and regularly releases innovative new capabilities for the ibPublish platform. This release, along with other enhancements to ibPublish, not only expands capabilities, but simplifies user workflow to allow journalists to spend less time editing and manipulating video clips and images; freeing them to spend more time on developing compelling content.

Now seamlessly integrated and accessible within ibPublish are advanced video clipping and trimming tools, streamlined image capture and gallery generation, expanded off-site video sharing and enhanced closed captioning.

The built-in video clipping tool allows editors to quickly create multiple clips from existing video while preserving the original video file. In addition, editors can fine-tune video clips with the click of the “Trim Video” button for cleaner online video.

Direct image capture allows editors to instantly grab multiple images from a video clip, generating an image gallery in a few simple steps. “When I introduced my team to this tool, there was a moment of silence followed by a standing ovation,” said Barb Besteni, managing editor and executive producer at Post-Newsweek Stations’ WPLG-TV in Miami. “This feature allows our team to pull images from all of our footage; it is very easy to use and we use it a lot.”

Additionally, setting off-site video-sharing rules is now just one click away. Editors have full control over embeddable video players, allowing or restricting sharing rights to external sites. If sharing is permitted, ad targeting allows stations to monetize video views on other sites and access in-depth analytics that are native to the platform.

The new closed-captioning feature empowers IB clients to meet the FCC’s requirements and regulations for online video without affecting the user’s experience. IB’s video players allow users to turn the closed captioning functionality on or off.

All of these features are included within the ibPublish CMS, so editors do not need to open and log in to another program or use a separate tool to manage their video. Access to these and other features are built in to each video object in the platform.
