June 17, 2013

Collaborative nonprofit to serve as “one-stop” source for information on MS services

CHERRY HILL, N.J., June 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Today the Multiple Sclerosis Coalition (MSC) debuts new accounts on Facebook and Twitter that will serve as a “one-stop” source for information on available MS programs and services. Representing the leading organizations in MS research, advocacy, education, and treatment, the MSC will provide information on the individual offerings of member organizations as well as collaborative efforts orchestrated through the Coalition itself. The MSC can be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MSCoalition and on Twitter at @MS_Coalition.

Member organizations of the MSC include Accelerated Cure Project, the Consortium of MS Center, Can Do Multiple Sclerosis, the International Organization of MS Nurses, Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and United Spinal Association.

The debut of the MSC on social media is a step forward in the organization’s mission to “to increase opportunities for cooperation and provide greater opportunity to leverage the effective use of resources for the benefit of the MS community.”

“The goal of the Coalition’s social media effort is to help those in the MS community become aware of the full scope of programs and services that are available to them,” says MSC President Doug Franklin, “as well as educate them about the important issues on which the member organizations speak with one voice.”
