The Braves, White Sox and Blue Jays to Debut New Logos & Looks

BUFFALO, N.Y., Feb. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — New Era, the official on-field cap for Major League Baseball (MLB), announced today that the Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox and Toronto Blue Jays will introduce new 2014 New Era® 59FIFTY® caps with the Diamond Era® technology for the 2014 MLB season. Both retro and remixed designs are reflected in this year’s caps, as the Braves reintroduce the old-school, lower-case “a” logo; the White Sox bring back the “batter man”; and the Blue Jays release a new colorway with an all-new red cap with the Maple Leaf logo.

New Look Cap Design Background:

    --  Atlanta Braves - 2014 marks the 40(th) anniversary of legendary slugger
        Hank Aaron breaking Babe Ruth's home run record, and the new cap design
        reflects the style and logo of the cap the team wore at that time.
    --  Chicago White Sox - The new logo takes elements of the White Sox retro
        "batter man" logo that was popular from 1976 - 1986 and introduces a new
        deconstructed design.
    --  Toronto Blue Jays - The new design takes elements of their current logo
        and incorporates the country flag colors.

All 30 teams will wear their version of the New Era 59FIFTY cap with Diamond Era technology at various points during the baseball season, which can include Spring Training, Batting Practice or regular season games. The 2014 collection will be available for purchase at nationwide retailers, New Era Flagship stores, www.neweracap.com and on MLB.com at the start of Spring Training.
