Amanda Eamich Nguyen Joins the Rock Creek Strategic Marketing Team as the Director of Strategy
CHEVY CHASE, Md., March 7, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — This week Rock Creek Strategic Marketing welcomed Amanda Eamich Nguyen as their Director of Strategy. Nguyen served the U.S. Department of Agriculture for more than 10 years as the Director of Web Communications since 2008, and previously as the Food Safety and Inspection Service’s Director of Strategic Communications and New Media.
In her most recent role at USDA, Nguyen created the Department’s first social media assets, established governance and policy, and built consensus and facilitated deeper relationships among communicators, legal, and technical teams. Under her leadership, the Department redesigned USDA.gov without additional resources, implemented an enterprise digital analytics program, and expanded the social media network to new platforms for enhanced outreach efforts and more meaningful customer engagement.
Nguyen led the USDA Digital Government Strategy plan development and implementation, working alongside the Office of the Chief Information Officer to establish greater collaboration and deliver better services and programs to diverse stakeholders through digital technology. At USDA, Nguyen continuously collaborated with other Federal agencies, non-profits, and international organizations to pursue innovative open data and digital communication opportunities.
She has designed integrated digital communication strategies for both national and community campaigns supporting the full scope of USDA’s mission spanning conservation, health and food safety, research and science, rural economic development, trade.
“I design strategies to maintain the essence of an organization’s mission while connecting in creative, authentic and meaningful ways with the target audience,” said Nguyen. “My passion is helping organizations accomplish their mission using the right mix of technology, social media, and well-designed communication elements.”
“We have been impressed with Amanda’s ideas from years of following her on social media and attending her speeches around the country,” said Rock Creek cofounder Scott Johnson. “She exemplifies the new breed of social media and tech savvy communicators that are transforming today’s Federal government and broader integrated marketing industry.”
In 2013, FedScoop recognized Amanda as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Under 40 in Gov and Tech for her work transforming the digital communications program at USDA. She served on the Federal Web Manager Council, and was co-chair of their Social Media Sub-Council. Amanda is an active member of the Bethesda Young AFCEA board.
