New Cubbie Donut Proceeds to Raise up to $10,000 for Cubs Charities April 2-9

CHICAGO, April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Dunkin’ Donuts, America’s favorite all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, is partnering with the Chicago Cubs and Cubs Charities with the release of the new Cubbie Donut. A portion of the proceeds of the Cubbie Donut sales, up to $10,000, will be donated to Cubs Charities from Wednesday, April 2 to Wednesday, April 9, 2014.

The special Cubbie Donut is a glazed donut with white frosting and blue and red drizzle, and it will be available at Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants throughout Chicagoland.

In addition, Hall of Famer and three-time All-Star Fergie Jenkins will meet and greet guests at the new Dunkin’ Donuts at 947 W. Addison near Wrigley Field at 8:30 am, Friday, April 4. The restaurant will celebrate its grand opening that morning with game ticket giveaways for the Cubs home opening game and a $100 gift certificate honoring Wrigley Field’s 100(th) birthday.

Cubs Charities supports programs that promote physical activity, education and wellness for at-risk children and young adults. Other areas of support include community-based services targeted to low- and moderate-income children and families; community development initiatives; baseball field construction and renovation; and schools, parks, open spaces and organizations within the immediate area surrounding Wrigley Field.
