Shuttersong Selected As A 2014 MITX What’s Next Awards Finalist
Shuttersong app recognized for innovation, value, and impact.
BOSTON, April 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Shuttersong today announced that its app, which adds 15 seconds of music or sound to any digital image, has been selected as a finalist in two categories, Most Innovative Mobile App – Product and Best UX -Product, for the MITX What’s Next Awards. This year MITX combined its annual Innovation and Interactive Awards into a single show recognizing Boston’s entire digital ecosystem.
Since 1996 the MITX Award shows have grown to become the largest and most prestigious awards competitions in the country for marketing innovations, celebrating the best creative and technological accomplishments emerging from New England.
“The finalists that emerged from an unprecedented number of submissions received for this year’s MITX What’s Next Awards demonstrate the creativity and innovation of our region’s rich digital ecosystem,” says MITX Board Member and Communispace Chief Operating Officer Howard Kogan, who serves as Chairman of the MITX What’s Next Awards Advisory Committee. “From startups to large corporations and everything in between, the individuals behind this work continue to raise the bar for the entire digital community.”
The nominations come in the midst of a momentous year for Shuttersong. Launched in September 2013, Shuttersong is the first free mobile app to combine any digital image with up to 15 seconds of sound, creating a single, shareable, and high-quality JPEG file. Making and sharing Shuttersongs is so simple and intuitive that the app’s interface uses no words at all. A vehicle for audio-rich visual self-expression, Shuttersong allows users to combine sounds with their own photos, or access the app’s the growing commercial content library, which includes digital greeting cards from American Greetings, exclusive branded content from Bare Tree Media, including Garfield, and fully-licensed celebrity images from PRPhotos.com.
“The MITX Awards honor some of the most innovative companies in the New England digital ecosystem,” said William Agush, founder and CEO of Shuttersong, “Using patent-pending technology, we’ve accomplished what no-one else has been able to do: create single JPEG files that combine high-quality photographic images with sound. To be a finalist for both our mobile app and UX is a testament to the quality of our technology and design as well as our innovative approach to image-sharing.”
Shuttersong will be recognized with the other finalists in the categories of Most Innovative Mobile App – Product and Best UX -Product at a gala awards ceremony traditionally attended by over 1,000 of the region’s top interactive marketing and technology professionals. Winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Westin Waterfront Hotel on May 29(th). Tickets can be purchased at www.mitxawards.org/The-Ceremony.aspx
