Let the Red Carpet games begin! TV Guide Network is putting their game face on with the start of production of a new original Red Carpet-based game show series, CELEBRITY SAYS! Produced by City Lights Television, the series has been greenlit for 65 half-hour episodes and begins filming in Los Angeles in November. CELEBRITY SAYS! will be hosted by Dave Holmes (Reno 911, Say What Karaoke). The announcement was made by Ryan O’Hara, president, TV Guide Network.

CELEBRITY SAYS! will feature today’s hottest stars via footage captured on the Red Carpet. The series will include various themed episodes including “Hollywood Sex Symbols,”"Hollywood’s Funniest” featuring sitcom stars, “Let’s Get Real” featuring reality TV stars and “Most Hated Villains and Hottest Heroes,” featuring villains and heroes from TV and film.

“CELEBRITY SAYS! is the perfect game show for TV Guide Network and fits our brand well,” says Mr. O’Hara. “Our Red Carpet programming garners our highest network ratings, and this show will encompass our viewers’ passion to see their favorite celebrities in fun and candid moments at the hottest events in Hollywood.”

“We are thrilled with this opportunity to work with TV Guide,” said Dave Noll, president of City Lights Television. “I couldn’t think of a better game show for the network. It’s fresh, fun and it tests how well you know your favorite stars. If you’re a fan of the Red Carpet, CELEBRITY SAYS! is the show for you.”

In each episode, three contestants will be challenged during four different rounds on how well they know their favorite stars through a series of questions that celebrities have been asked while they were on the Red Carpet.

In round one titled “Freeze Frame,” each contestant has to correctly match the answer to questions asked of various celebrities. Correct answers are worth 100 points and revealed via Red Carpet footage. During round two, contestants are shown three different celebrities and one statement. The contestants must correctly guess which celebrity answered the statement with each correct answer worth 200 points. Round three takes the action up a notch when the contestants are challenged with the “Red Carpet Hustle,” a rapid fire speed round. The contestants with the lowest total score after round three will be eliminated from the game.

In the final round, five different celebrities have been asked the same question. The remaining contestant is given two choices as to what each celebrity said, and 30 seconds to get through the round. Each correct answer is worth $200; at the end of the round if the contestant correctly matches the answers with all five celebrities, they win the grand prize of $5,000.
