Verizon Wireless Launches V CAST Mobile TV

December 11, 2007

Verizon Wireless has announced the launch of V CAST Mobile TV. Customers in metropolitan Detroit can now watch broadcast-quality television on select TV-enabled handsets.

V CAST Mobile TV from Verizon Wireless offers customers in parts of southeastern Michigan broadcast-quality picture and sound from broadcast and cable television, including live shows and other mobile television content 24 hours a day.

CAST Mobile TV offers programming for TV viewers of all ages. The service offers live shows and mobile television content from many entertainment brands, including CBS Mobile, Comedy Central, ESPN Mobile TV, Fox Mobile, MTV, NBC 2GO, NBC News2GO, and Nickelodeon.

The service also comes with parental control features, so parents can monitor and restrict the programs their children view.

V CAST Mobile TV from Verizon Wireless is powered on the FLO TV service from MediaFLO USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm.

Greg Haller, president for Michigan/Indiana/Kentucky region at Verizon Wireless, said: “V CAST Mobile TV is unlike any other mobile television service available right now. It’s like watching TV at home with a range of channels offering great shows and sporting events from which to choose.”
