A second Beatles Story museum reportedly is expected to open this summer as part of the new Pier Head-based Mersey Ferries terminal in Liverpool, England.
The $20 million center will be part of the permanent Beatles Story exhibition, which attracts 200,000 visitors a year and chronicles the story of the iconic band's creation, career and break-up, the Liverpool Echo said Tuesday.
The original Beatles Story museum is in Albert Dock.
The Pier Head center will feature a four-dimensional theater and Fab4Store, the newspaper said.
Although we are close to completing a massive extension at Albert Dock there were certain things we had to drop because we did not have enough space, Beatles Story director Jerry Goldman told the newspaper.
The ferry terminal proposal gives us the opportunity to complete the picture and attract all the people around the Pier Head using the ferry terminal, he said. Combining the two will boost business for both sites tremendously and create something fantastic at the Pier Head to complement what we have at Albert Dock.
