Wizzard Media Signs Global Distribution Agreement With Media Rights America for Expanded Mobile Network Coverage
Wizzard Media (AMEX: WZE), the world’s largest podcasting network, announced today that their extensive library of extreme sports video podcasts will be accessible to worldwide mobile platforms through a major distribution/syndication deal with Media Rights of America (MRA). MRA represents some the world’s most popular high profile entertainment groups in extreme/action sports, music, movies and more.
Under this new agreement, extreme sports content hosted and published by Wizzard Media will be made available for subscription and individual download purchase from more than 40 distributors, covering 30 plus countries, and reaching more than 300 million world-wide mobile users. Additionally, users will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of products generated from Wizzard’s extreme sports mobile library, including exclusive video clips, wallpaper, ringtones, ringbacks, animated gifs, themes, watches and games.
Podcast content includes footage of motorcross freestyle, skating, snow boarding, and power boat racing events, as well as the National Jet Ski tour and other live sporting events. Each video is produced in HD widescreen format.
Also, Wizzard Media and MRA plan to create new original video content, ringtones and games specifically for the extreme sports community. Further, MRA will be archiving all video podcasts on the Wizzard Media Network for potential syndication to mobile carriers worldwide.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to provide our viewers with multiple viewing options for podcasts, giving our content creators mobile syndication options in addition to distribution on other media platforms,” notes Skip Fredricks, Sr. VP Content Creation and Distribution, Wizzard Media. “Our community of viewers is on the go, and we want to give them the ability to access our content on their terms.”
“We are pleased to be able to offer our clients this amazing footage. Video podcasts lend themselves to the most direct transfer to the mobile platform compared to all of the different formats of video production,” says Brad Kimura, VP of Content Rights Acquisition for MRA.
The first phase of content will be available for download in early July.
