Priority Check or, Rather, Unchecked

THE big news headline, though not for The Malay Mail, was… Fasha Sandha having her cat kidnapped!

Now seriously – when stuff like that makes the news, you have to wonder if we’re getting a little too frivolous. After all, missing kids are relegated to back pages, while an actress’ pet gets major news coverage?

How ridiculous can you get?

Also making waves was the news that Anita Sarawak is joining Akademi Fantasia, which we see as a positive move to beef up the faculty for the TV performing arts academy.

There was also the announcement that the Anugerah Planet Muzik 2008 will take place in Kuala Lumpur on April 20, though the list of nominations was subject to a lot of debate as to whether the event seems to favour the Singaporeans more.

Seriously, do they have anyone else to offer apart from Taufik Batisah, Hady Mirza and Imran Ajmain?

Meanwhile, it was a good turnout for the Anugerah Industri Muzik judging event yesterday, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the generally good vibes of those who took part in the first round of judging will set the pace for a bigger and better event this year.

Now, on to the gossip of the week.

It’s all good

REMEMBER the whole spat between supposed item Mila and Ebi recently?

Well, we just heard that the duo have made up and come to an amicable solution, as they felt the whole matter has been blown out of proportion.

Sadly enough, their fans are still trading blows, leaving the duo to wonder if it will have any adverse effect on their careers.

Well… we suppose… sometimes… no news IS good news.

I am body beautiful… Not!

INDONESIAN hunky actor Samuel Rizal definitely turns heads, and for this actress, known to flirt with anything in pants, it was no different.

SO WHAT? heard that when Samuel went out for a night on the town, accompanied by some friends – this actress eyeballed him.

And since she prides herself on playing seductress, she refused to acknowledge his presence.

What she did do was a little `dirty dancing’ with some of his mates in hopes of getting attention – something she has become known for.

Needless to say, her charms were not a turn on and she was appropriately ignored.

Ouch!

Maybe the magic just works with husbands of other women. Double ouch!

Secretly engaged?

WHILE Ashraf Sinclair (right) and Bunga Citra Lestari (left) have come clean about their affair, we hear that they haven’t totally come out with the absolute truth.

If our sources are to be believed, the couple are apparently already engaged!

We don’t know if there’s any truth behind it, but if there is, let’s hope the couple come clean with us fast before people speculate on why they would choose to hide such a happy bit of news.

Not really the right thing to do

THIS high and mighty band is seriously starting to lose our respect for them. Not that we had much for them in the first place.

Well, they’re in the line-up for this gig which features a lot of established, as well as upcoming, non-mainstream acts.

What we don’t quite fancy hearing is that the band has apparently sent out a call to their fans to come in droves, along with `advice’ to them on how to dodge paying for tickets to enter.

We bet the organisers are really fuming over that one.

Bitter eh?

THIS horny music producer is known as quite the party animal.

And while he does end up quite sloshed, that’s not the problem we want to highlight.

Recently, we heard that the divorcee was `feeling up’ some young thing – as usual.

Only this time, the girl, also an actress, did not take to his advances.

Rejected, we hear he’s now going on a spree, telling people nasty things about her.

Ouch!
