NOTORIOUS jailbird Charles Bronson is hoping to have a special screening of the film of his life in prison.

The convict, from Aberystwyth, is being played by Black Hawk Down and Band of Brothers star Tom Hardy in the flick.

He has already shaved off his moustache and sent it to the actor with the message “get your make-up artist to sort this out”.

Filming began in Nottinghamshire last week on the movie, simply titled Bronson.

A set insider revealed: “We want to show it to him to make sure he’s happy with it before release.”

The 55-year-old – real name Michael Peterson and prisoner number BT1314 – has been behind bars for 34 years.

Thirty of those have been in solitary for rooftop protests, attacks on inmates and staff and hostage takings.

He is currently held in Wakefield Prison, dubbed the Monster Mansion because of inmates like Shim murderer Ian Huntley.

Publisher Apex is planning to print his biography later this year.

Spokesman Chris Cowlin said: “He mentioned the filming. He only hears what the producers are telling him, that they are starting to film.

“They have done the scenes where he is a child and that sort of thing and I think they’re going to be finished in the next four weeks.”

And a family source said: “I think he is over the moon about it. I’m sure he read the script.”

Bronson is currently serving life for taking teacher Phil Danielson hostage at Hull Prison in 1999.
