LifeHouse Depicts King David Rising
REDLANDS – LifeHouse Theater will present a new musical, “The Rise of King David,” March 28 through April 27.
The play tells the biblical story of David and his ascension to the throne of Israel, based on the biblical books of Samuel and the Psalms of David. The story traces David’s journey to becoming the most revered king of Israel and features his famous battle with Goliath, his legendary friendship with King Saul’s son Jonathan and his flight from certain death at the hands of Saul.
The cast is made up of more than 40 Inland Empire actors, including William R. Fernandez Jr. as David, Randy Lopez as King Saul, Adam Hunt as Jonathan and William R. Fernandez Sr. as Samuel.
Also featured are Rick Arias as Abner, Tiffany Stefan as Marin, Jerry Cason as David’s father Jesse, Amanda Cason as Michal, Mark Harbison as Doeg, Lauren Mosher as Abigail and Taylor Joseph as Abiathar.
“The Rise of King David” was written by Dustin Ceithamer with musical score film and stage composer Nolan Livesay.
Ceithamer also serves as director and choreographer. Set design is by Ceithamer and Tim Mahoney.
Opening performance is 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 28. Performances continue weekends through April 27, at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, 2:25 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays and 2:15 p.m. Sundays. There is one Thursday evening performance, at 7:30 April 24. The Saturday, April 12, performances will feature interpretation for the hearing impaired.
Advance ticket prices are $12 or $17 for adults and $6 or $9 for children ages 3 to 11 (no children younger than 3 are admitted) and can be purchased over the phone with a Visa or MasterCard by calling (909) 335-3037, ext. 21.
Checks can also be mailed to LifeHouse, provided reservations are made far enough in advance. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the box office, open 1 to 6 p.m. Fridays and one hour before performance times on the weekends. Tickets are $1 more the day of the performance.
Group rates are available for groups of 10 or more, and season passes are available.
