Buddy Ebsen's widow is selling some of the late Hollywood actor's costumes from The Beverly Hillbillies at an upcoming auction in Dallas.
Heritage Auction Galleries said the items will be sold April 5 at a public auction and online.
Items for sale include autographed, annotated scripts from Ebsen's shows, The Beverly Hillbillies and Barnaby Jones, as well as items dating back to his days as a vaudeville song-and-dance man.
Among the interesting items consigned by his widow, Dorothy Ebsen, are the Tin Man's boots Buddy wore early in the production of 'The Wizard of Oz.' He had to drop out of the film because of a near-fatal lung infection from the metallic makeup he wore for the role, Doug Norwine, Heritage's Director of Music and Entertainment Auctions, said in a statement.
Ebsen's contract for the pilot episode of The Beverly Hillbillies and his Jed Clampett hat, mustache and Sunday best suit are among the items expected to hit the auction block.
