Thomson (Euronext Paris: 18453) (NYSE: TMS) today announced the three finalists for the inaugural Thomson Young Innovator of the Year Award which will be presented at the 2008 National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) taking place in Seattle, WA from March 28th to 30th. The award will be presented on the opening night of the festival to the recipient who has demonstrated extraordinary innovation in the use of imagination and technology in the course of producing the film, so as to markedly enhance the film's final quality.

NFFTY received more than 150 film submissions from filmmakers 21-years-old and under, and some as young as nine-years-old, that ranged from thought provoking to unconventional, and will showcase approximately half of those films over the two-day festival. The three finalists for the Thomson Young Innovator of the Year Award are Animal Instincts by Cameron Edser & Michael Richards, Peace by Stephen Sotor & Trace Gaynor and Memorium by Kevin Kllauber.

Finalists were selected by a jury of six, comprising senior Thomson executives and award-winning filmmakers including:

Jean-Charles Hourcade, Senior Executive Vice President and CTO, Thomson

Chris Carey, Chief Marketing Officer, Services Division, Thomson

Nicholas de Wolff, Founding Board of Governors, Producers Guild of America (New Media Council) (also CMO, Technology Division, Thomson)

Kris Kristensen, award-winning producer and director ("White Face" and "Crack in the Sidewalk")

"As a visionary company on the forefront of innovations in the entertainment, communications and media industries, we are honored to recognize the efforts of an emerging talent with the Thomson Young Innovator of the Year Award," said Nicholas de Wolff. "We are thoroughly impressed with the diverse creativity exhibited in the films we reviewed, and we look forward to the challenging task of identifying the film with the best mix of technological ingenuity, imaginative storytelling and innovative use of tools."
