Blaxican Auction Raises $21,000

Posted on: Monday, 24 March 2008, 21:00 CDT

An auction of the contents of an Illinois rapper's house has earned just $21,000 for the victims he has admitted conning in a $1.6 million investment scam.

Eric Blaxican Jaglicic, 27, was sentenced in a DuPage County courtroom Friday to six years in prison for duping investors out of up to $1.6 million, the (Chicago) Southtown Star reported.

The sentencing came after Jaglicic pleaded guilty to 15 fraud charges stemming from the scam in which he convinced investors he was the producer of an Adam Sandler movie.

Jaglicic's attorney, Phil Nathe, said the rapper is hoping to turn his life around in prison.

He's very sorry for what happened to all the victims in this case, the Star quoted Nathe as saying.

Among the items auctioned off to repay victims were a hot tub with a built-in TV, a big-screen plasma television and a shark tank that held the rapper's two pet sharks and bat-ray.

With the separate sales of the rapper's recording studio, Hummer sport utility vehicle, Chrysler 300 sedan and mansion, the duped investors hope to recover up to 50 cents on every dollar they invested, victim Scott Kappel told the Star.
