CLEVELAND, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Did you hear the one about the 12 people who took a stand-up comedy class at Cuyahoga Community College's Western Campus? Actually, it's not a joke. The first Tri-C stand-up comedy class will graduate with a LIVE stand-up comedy show on Saturday, April 5, on stage in the West Galleria at 11000 Pleasant Valley Road in Parma. The 8:00 p.m. show is free.
The Stand-Up Comedy Experience, a non-credit continuing education class, began in February. The comedy show is the culmination of eight weeks of preparation by 12 students, who have met Wednesday evenings to hone their original five-minute comedy routines. Class facilitator John David (JD) Sidley is a Cleveland-area stand-up comic who has performed across Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. He has won several comedy competitions, made guest appearances on local TV, and facilitated a stand-up comedy class at The Beck Center in Lakewood.
The Stand-Up Comedy Experience will be offered again this fall at Tri-C. Interested students, who are 18 years of age or older, should contact Mike Ketterick at 216-987-2260. Students will be informed as soon as fall class dates are finalized. The class fee is $150. For more information, contact JD Sidley at (216) 906-7435.
