Oh Yeah! Ulster’s Superstar DJ Works His Magic on Track
The track, McCready Rides Again, was produced by Holmes and written by David and Leo Abrahams, an associate of Brian Eno. Recently recorded at the Drama Studio in Belfast, it will appear on the new CD which showcases the best new talent from Northern Ireland.
The album is the brainchild of Carling’s Aisling Duffy, Michael Bell of Fate magazine and Stuart Bailie of the Oh Yeah music centre and features eight bands including Kowalski, The Panama Kings, Cashier No 9, LaFaro, And So I Watch You From Afar, Mojo Fury, General Fiasco and The Jane Bradfords.
As well as the new track from David Holmes, the CD also includes a bonus track from hotly tipped Portadown trio In Case of Fire, who have been receiving rave reviews from music critics across the water.
Their forthcoming release Align The Planets has been hailed by Kerrang! magazine as one of the albums of 2008. Aisling Duffy of Carling is delighted that Holmes, who has composed the scores for several major Hollywood films, including Ocean’s Eleven and Out of Sight, has given his support to the new album.
She said: “The Carling Supports: The Oh Yeah Sessions 08 album has been a labour of love for all involved, but its quality has surpassed all expectations and is something that everyone in Northern Ireland who loves music should be very proud of.”
Oh Yeah’s Stuart Bailie said: “The music is exceptional, the artists are at their best.”
