Haveeru Launches FM Channel in Maldives Capital

The radio channel HFM 92.6, managed by Haveeru, went on air for the first time early this morning at around 7 a.m. The first programme to be broadcast by the channel was “HFM Hendhunu” ["HFM Morning"], which began at 7 a.m. and ended at 9.45 a.m. It was hosted by Madheeha Ibrahim and Imad Latheef. Haveeru editor Ali Rafeeq also participated in the programme as a guest.

The channel was licensed to broadcast on 21 February this year and the channel had started broadcasting a test signal on 5 March 2008. HFM 92.6 is a 24-hour radio channel.

During the “HFM Hendhunu” programme, audiences were invited to talk and ask questions to the hosts and guest by calling the number 3301171.

There are currently six FM channels operating in Male, one of them belonging to Voice of Maldives.

HFM 92.6 is available as a streaming feed from its website at http://www.hfm.com.mv.
