Blues Night on Back of Chart Hit

Danny Bryant’s Redeyeband have a gig at The Acorn Theatre, Penzance tonight with their own brand of blues and rock. The three- piece band (with Ken Bryant on bass and Trevor Barr on drums) are celebrating the success of their current album, Live, which hit the iTunes Top Ten blues charts in six countries.

MADDY Prior, the voice of Steeleye Span for 34 years, is back where she belongs – fronting the band for their spring tour. This weekend they are at the Babbacombe Theatre, Torquay. Since their debut in 1969, Steeleye Span have been one of the most influential names in British roots music. Maddy is back with band stalwart and fiddler Peter Knight, Rick Kemp on bass, Ken Nicol (Albion Band) on guitar and vocals and Liam Genockey on drum stool.

AFTER their triumphant debut last year, the North Devon Sinfonia return to the Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe tomorrow with guest soloist Alison Farr on piano. The programme includes Beethoven’s Fidelio Overture, Shostakovich’s Symphony No 5 and Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.
