Pupils Tackle Art With a Hindu Theme
TWO paintings showing symbols of the Hindu religion are to take pride of place in the school hall.
The school’s seven to nine-year-old pupils set aside their usual lessons for a day to work on two large paintings, music and dancing all with a Hindu theme.
Nash Meghji, from Warwickshire County Council’s County Music and Art Service, spent the day explaining some of the Hindu symbols and helping pupils paint them on to two large pieces of paper. He then went on to help them get a taste of traditional musicand dancing.
Head teacher Mary Hoverd said: “The pupils are increasing their multi cultural knowledge.
The banners will be varnished and hung from the ceiling in the hall.”
