Lil Wayne Hits It Big With No. 1 Single
The Billboard Hot 100 singles chart has a new face and song on top this week — Rapper Lil Wayne with Lollipop.
Although he has hit the charts more than 20 times since 1999, Lollipop is his first No. 1 as lead artist, Billboard.com reported Thursday.
Last week’s No. 1, Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis fell to No. 2 on the Hot 100, followed by No Air by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown at No. 3.
Usher’s Love in This Club featuring Young Jeezy is No. 4 followed by Mariah Carey’s Touch My Body in the No. 5 spot.
Madonna and Justin Timberlake’s collaboration 4 Minutes moved up a spot to No. 6 while Ray J and Yung Berg’s Sexy Can I fell a notch to No. 7.
The Top 10 is filled out by Love Song by Sara Bareilles’ at No. 8, Chris Brown’s With You at No. 9 and Miley Cyrus’ See You Again at No. 10.
George Strait chalked up a record 43rd No. 1 on the Hot Country chart with I Saw God Today.
