SAN FRANCISCO, May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- New online video entertainment game company PopJax, Inc., today announced a relationship with the award-winning hard rock band, Avenged Sevenfold (A7X) to create the company's first customized online video entertainment game. This is the company's first collaboration, combining pop culture gaming and hot musical talent, to produce three original and exclusive PopJax music games for fans and casual gamers alike. The games will be available on PopJax.com, Avengedsevenfold.com and Facebook.
PopJax has created the first online gaming service around web video and has built an extensive collection of video trivia questions designed to test players' knowledge of topics such as TV, movies, celebrities, sports, politics and music. Thousands of questions in hundreds of categories are all linked to video clips on the web. By combining the three most celebrated applications on the Web: social networking, user-generated video and gaming, PopJax allows players to interact with content they love in an exciting new way. Users are encouraged to challenge friends, as well as play and create games for a chance to win cash prizes offered daily and monthly.
"The Avenged Sevenfold partnership escalates the relevance of casual gaming online," said Doug Barry, PopJax CEO and Founder. "By partnering with artists and celebrities to build exclusive games for their fans, we're creating a whole new way for artists and their audiences to connect with one another."
Using online video clips from Avenged Sevenfold's recent Taste of Chaos Tour, other concerts, and music videos, the games are designed to engage A7X aficionados and music lovers in a fun online trivia challenge. Fans can win exciting prizes such as autographed guitars and band memorabilia. On May 21, the games will be available on dedicated A7X pages at http://www.popjax.com/ or Facebook http://apps.facebook.com/popjaxx
"It's so f****ing cool that we were able to link to our favorite video clips and band trivia to build our own games with PopJax," said Avenged Sevenfold guitarist, Zacky Vengeance. "This is a great way for us to reach out to our fans and reward their passion with band memorabilia, and other great prizes."
