Iran Ministry Proposes Setting Up Radio Station for Students

Tehran, 1 June: The Minister of science, research and technology [Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi] has requested the setting up of a student radio station in a letter to Ezzatollah Zarghami, the head of the state radio and TV.
Mohammad Baqer Khorramshad, deputy science minister for cultural affairs, told the Fars News Agency: Following a proposal for the establishment of a student radio station, some correspondence between the Science Ministry and the relevant officials at the Seda va Sima [State Radio and TV] took place during which in letters from the minister of science to Zarqami and also from myself to Hasan Khojasteh, the deputy head of Seda va Sima, the proposal for setting up a radio station was put forward.
He added: Given the student population of country there is an audience for a student radio station and we hope that Seda va Sima officials will support the idea.
Khrramshad said in conclusion: This station, if set up, will be broadcasting various programmes covering student political, news, and cultural and social issues.
