By Messenger-Inquirer, Owensboro, Ky.
Jun. 2–With world-famous literary and network television celebrities coming to Owensboro as participants in the International Mystery Writers Festival at RiverPark Center, students of all ages are lining up to learn from the best through special workshops and meet-and-greets.
But there is one unique group of young adults that has special access to learn from the most famous entertainers in mystery and crime genre.
RiverPark Center will host 30 students attending the Young Adult Theatre Academy June 13-18. Top-level network television producers are among the professionals scheduled to work with the YATA students.
During this intensive five-day course, YATA students will meet with other award-winning professionals from all areas of the theater and entertainment industry. They will take a close look at the theatrical process through the eyes of actors, set designers, theater technicians, producers and writers.
YATA, in its fifth year, continues to establish itself as an outstanding theater-training opportunity as it aims to live out the mission of the RiverPark Center: To improve the quality of life by hosting and presenting diverse arts and civic events and focusing on arts in education.
