World Premiere of Unbeatable Harold to Open Detroit Windsor International Film Festival at the Detroit Institute of Arts

DETROIT, June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The world premiere of Unbeatable Harold, starring Michigan native Gordon Michaels, Golden Globe Winner Dylan McDermott and veteran actor Henry Winkler, will launch the inaugural Detroit Windsor International Film Festival (DWIFF) on June 26th at 7:30 pm. The premiere, hosted by Birmingham, Michigan-based J. Lauri Filmworks, will be held at the Detroit Institute of Arts. John P. Lauri, founder and president of J. Lauri Filmworks, made the announcement.
Michaels, who stars in the lead role in the feature film, also wrote Unbeatable Harold and will attend the premiere along with several of his co-stars. The comedy features such notable actors as Gladys Knight, Charles Durning, Phyllis Diller, Taryn Manning and local Michigan actors Jennifer Kincer and Mike Kelly. Fellow Michigan native Lauri served as a second-unit director on the film and has been actively involved in the post-production process. The film was shot at Universal Studios in Burbank, CA and various locations in Reno, NV.

The world premiere of Unbeatable Harold and VIP after-party are open to the public. Gordon Michaels has been involved in the entertainment industry for over thirty years. He is a graduate of the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater in New York City, where he studied under acting legend Sandford Meisner. He spent a number of years under the tutelage of Uta Hagen and Herbert Berghoff at the renowned HB Studio in New York City. Gordon has performed on Broadway, in films and on television, and is the Co-founder of the motion picture film company LG Entertainment Group at Warner Brother's Studios. Michael's has also been seen in the films The Cooler, Joe Dirt, Air Force One, Seduced by a Thief and Leaving Las Vegas. He has also been recognized for his work on ABC's award winning legal drama The Practice. His portrayal of Juan in the 1994 Los Angeles revival of Miguel Pinero's Short Eyes, gained him critical acclaim. Gordon is presently developing his next feature film project, which will be filmed entirely in Michigan in October 2008. In May 2008, Gordon held a two-day actor's workshop in Northville, Michigan that was attended by over 50 local actors.
