HOLLYWOOD actor Ioan Gruffudd has lent his support to Wales’ first international film and music festival.

The actor, who made his name in hit films Titanic and The Fantastic Four, said of the festival, which takes place at venues across Cardiff later this year: “What is there not to be supportive of?

Soundtrack’s ambitious programme and distinctive theme is a pleasure to hear about.

“I am always proud when a dynamic event comes from Wales. I’m delighted that Soundtrack is taking on and celebrating the best of the international and Welsh film and music industry, and I am sure it will establish itself in a prominent position among other film festivals across the world.”

Gruffudd joins Manic Street Preachers singer James Dean Bradfield as a supporter of the festival.

Hosted by the Film Agency for Wales, Soundtrack supersedes Cardiff Film Festival.

Running from November 26 to 29, the annual event will give the Welsh public and film-makers the opportunity to interact with major international figures in the film and music industry.

More than 7,000 people are expected to attend the three-day event.
