For a birthday gift today, the lovely Shilpa Shetty could not have asked for anything warmer than the acceptance (finally!) of Raj Kunder by her family.

Post Big Brother, Shilpa had met NRI businessman Raj in London. He was just getting over his first marriage. But love blossomed.

And the very eligible Shilpa, like several actresses before her with the world at their feet, fell for the married man. She had defended her decision then by saying, “Actresses who decide to get married after working years to achieve everything, find all single men their age hooked and booked. But love doesn’t understand all this. It’s about compatibility.”

The Shetty family, however, took its time to come around to the situation. But today, to celebrate Shilpa’s birthday, they all are holidaying in Dubai with Raj! What gift did the man in her life give the actress? “A sexy car,” gushed Shilpa. “It’s so wonderful to be in love. Some relationships bring out the worst in you and some the best. Raj has brought out the best in me. I’m glad he’s part of our family now.”

That’s that, but there’s no question of the couple tying the knot soon. “I’m neck deep in work. I have just done a song for Karan Johar’s Dostana. And I’m in the process of completing Sunny Deol’s film The Man. After which I make my debut as a producer in October. And there’s one international film that I may sign. So there’s no marriage immediately,” confirmed Shilpa.

She’s getting into production because this is an exciting time for cinema. “It’s the best phase, you can actually translate your vision into reality,” said the actress who kickstarted this entire fad among Bollywood actresses for fitness and getting to be size zero.

But Shilpa would rather not be described as a size zero. “Please don’t call me that,” pleaded the sexy actress. “When you are really anorexic and abnormally thin, with flat chest and ribs showing, that’s called size zero. Such women are like hangers, the clothes just hang on them, I am not like that,” she laughed. “I am well endowed and curvaceous. I eat right, work out and practise yoga. I believe if you have discipline in life, lot of things are eased out.”
