Swayze Fights On

PATRICK Swayze has been cleared by his doctors to play a veteran FBI agent in a new TV series.

The Dirty Dancing star, 55, was given only weeks to live after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March.

But he has responded to treatment and is now fit enough to star in The Beast.

He will make 13 hour-long episodes for a US cable network – whose chief Bob DeBitetto said: “While there’s no cure, remission or miracle, we have high expectations he’ll do the full schedule.”

Swayze, married to Lisa, says his physique and the work he does on his New Mexico ranch will see him through the four months of filming that begin in Chicago in August.
