VH1 Orders Season 2 of ‘Celebrity Rehab’
VH1 said Tuesday it has ordered a second season of the U.S. reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.
The show, which stars Dr. Drew Pinsky, is to premiere in October and will consist of eight one-hour episodes, the network said.
Like the first season, the new episodes will show celebrity patients as they undergo detoxification and treatment at a center in the Los Angeles area.
The series will follow Grease and Taxi star Jeff Conaway as he checks into rehab after several back surgeries, setbacks and a subsequent reliance on pain medications.
Also slated for the show are reality TV star Sean Stewart, model/actress Amber Smith, Los Angeles taxi driver-turned-media figure Rodney King, former American idol contestant Nikki McKibbon, rocker Steven Adler and actress Tawny Kitaen.
Gary Busey, who is 13 years sober from his cocaine addiction, is also expected to share his experiences with the recovery process.
Dr. Drew is a powerful, positive force for those seeking recovery and I am quite simply amazed not only by the quality of his medical care, but for how much Drew and his team truly care about the people they are treating, VH1′s Jeff Olde said in a statement.
