Kimmel Audience to Share $100,000
The Los Angeles studio audience of Tuesday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live prime-time special is to share $100,000 Kimmel’s aunt won playing blackjack, ABC said.
Kimmel’s Aunt Chippy tried to win big for the studio audience with just three hands of blackjack, starting with a $10,000 bet, at the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino in Highland, Calif. for Tuesday night’s special.
When the dealer flipped over Aunt Chippy’s cards to reveal she won, the audience, who had been cheering her on via satellite, was told they would be splitting the $100,000 winnings.
Eligible members of the Jimmy Kimmel Live studio audience will each receive a check of nearly $1,000, ABC said.
Jimmy Kimmel Live is running special half-hour prime-time shows on each night that ABC airs the NBA finals.
