What Became of Real Talent?

I HAVE to just get this off my chest before I explode.

Why as a nation do we have to turn people who are loud, obnoxious, foul-mouthed bullies into celebrities?

I am talking about yet another series of Big Brother.

Did we not learn from Celebrity Big Brother, when certain celebs ruined their careers for the sake of good TV.

But what is good TV now? I just don't know. Where has having a talent gone?

Years ago, you had a career in TV because you had something to give to the public.

Gosh, I wonder if I am getting old. It just makes me so angry.

I HAVE been quite poorly this week so did not venture too far but managed to pop to work and met my favourite impressionist, John Culshaw.

When I sang in the clubs at the age of 18 I always worked with comedians and occasionally with the odd impressionist.

I love listening to them and I think that is a real talent. I used to do a rubbish impression of Mavis from Coronation Street in my youth!

So it's goodbye to Sharon Osbourne on X Factor. I like her a lot and find her refreshingly honest. I am not sure what I think of Cheryl from Girls Aloud taking her place - but it will certainly be a glamorous panel when she joins Dannii Minogue.

It seems all there is on TV now are the same shows being repeated. I think Lord Lloyd- Webber is going to do another Nancy- type show sometime soon.

I AM popping down to see Denise Van Outen in a few weeks when she films Who Dares Sings, which I was supposed to be singing on. However, they have changed the format now so I won't get to sing.

I HAVE a very busy summer ahead filming Summer School Musical for Sky 1 so this is my final Birmingham Mail column. It's been great giving you a peek into the weird world of my mad life. I want to say thank you for all your emails and all your support since Joseph. It means a lot. Take care.
