For Better Quality Pictures

PCOM Pacific recently introduced the Giraffe Space AV Series S- video cable. The 1.8-metre cable comes with an integral pair of stereo audio cables for a neat and convenient audio-visual package.

Retailing at RM169, the Giraffe S-video cable features gold- plated terminals on the video and audio connectors for improved resistance against oxidisation and corrosion.

Other features include the use of high-purity (99.99 per cent) copper conductors for optimum signal transfer as well as silver solder in bonding the conductors to the terminals. The metal connectors are also coated in a layer of special sillicone gasket to eliminate the penetration of dust and grime for increased durability.

According to PCom Pacific, the S-video interconnect can separately transfer brightness (luminance) and colour (chromo) portions of a video signal which makes it more superior than conventional composite cables. The latter carries both the luminance and chrome portion together in a single cable.

The company also adds that most Astro users are unaware that a simple change of cable from composite to S-video in their satellite receiver will result in better quality pictures.

All Giraffe products can be auditioned at the KL International AV Show 2008. For details, contact PCom Pacific Sdn Bhd at Tel: 03- 78809090.
