Sterling Vineyards 6th Annual Sterling Silver Screen Series
NAPA, Calif., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Sterling Vineyards, the landmark Napa Valley winery, announced the sixth annual outdoor summer screen series to benefit the Stars & Vines Fund with the Community Foundation of the Napa Valley. Assisted by the generosity of co-sponsor NBC Universal(R), the 2008 Sterling Silver Screen Series(R) will feature modern and vintage classic films in a variety of genres, from the Universal archives. In the past five years of summer movies, the nonprofit program has raised $70,000 for charity.
The popular outdoor screenings will begin on July 12, with Field of Dreams. Starring Kevin Costner as an Iowa farmer who builds a baseball diamond in his cornfield, this 1989 neo-classic is about the realization of dreams, and sports the most memorable movie line of recent times, "If you build it, they will come." Sterling Silver Screenings continue with The Blues Brothers on August 2, Pillow Talk on August 23 and conclude with The Man Who Knew Too Much on September 6.
Each screening offers wine tasting, picnic dinners, a variety of concessions and festival seating on the Sterling Vineyard Meadow at Sterling Vineyards, 1111 Dunaweal Lane in Calistoga. Most Sterling Silver Screen Series films are suitable for informed family viewing, however, we suggest that parents review MPAA advisories online in advance of attendance -- and some films are not rated. The grounds open at 7 p.m. and guests are encouraged to arrive early, dress in warm layers, and bring a blanket or low backed beach chairs to sit on. A pre-show of classic cartoons, followed by the feature presentation, begins at dusk. Admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children (under 16). All proceeds from tickets sales and a percentage of concession sales benefit the non-profit Stars & Vines Fund. More information is available online at http://www.sterlingvineyards.com/, or by calling (866) 363-1634.

The Stars & Vines fund, founded by Sterling Vineyards with the CFNV, was established to help support various needs of the farm working community. Past proceeds from Sterling Silver Screenings have assisted the Calistoga Family Center, the St Helena Family Center, the Family Economic Success Program and the Calistoga Farmworker Camp.
